GOTS & KID'S CONCEPT
With care for children, and the world they grow up in. For us, sustainability is about making thoughtful choices at every step, and we believe that safe and caring play starts with the materials we use. That's why some of our products are GOTS certified. A choice that benefits the environment, the people who make them, and the children who play with them.
What is GOTS and why is it important?
GOTS stands for Global Organic Textile Standard and is the world's leading certification for textiles made from organic fibers. It covers the entire journey, from cotton fields to finished product and sets high standards for both environmental consideration and social responsibility.
For a product to be GOTS certified, the cotton must be organically grown, without synthetic pesticides or genetically modified seeds. This helps protect the soil, preserve clean water and promote biodiversity. During the manufacturing process, the use of harmful substances, such as chlorine bleach and toxic dyes, is also limited, and more environmentally friendly alternatives are encouraged instead.
But GOTS is not only about the environment, but also about the people behind the products. The certification requires a safe working environment, fair wages and respect for human rights throughout the entire production chain.
When you choose a GOTS-certified product, you are supporting both the planet and the people who do the work – a step towards a more sustainable and fair world.
There are two different GOTS labels:
- Organic – means that at least 95% of the fibers are organic.
- Made with organic – means that at least 70% of the fibers are organic.
Not all of our products can be GOTS certified in their entirety, for example if they contain filling that weighs more than 70% of the total weight of the product. However, we still use GOTS certified fabrics where possible. In that case, we label the material with “certified organic cotton”.
